2/17/2020, Miami, Florida – Elias Vassilaros of Courtelis Company, Jeffrey S. Spiller of Healthcare Trust of America Inc. (HTA), city commissioner Dennis Moss and other dignitaries gathered on February 12th to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Jackson South at 152nd Street & 97th Avenue in Miami, FL.
Courtelis Company was a development consultant for the Health Care Trust of America Inc. (HTA) Construction who broke ground on the new 55,000 SF medical office building located in Miami, FL. After considerable efforts in the rezoning of approximately 12 Acres on 152 Street & 97th Avenue, the Courtelis team received all the approvals in January of 2020. The full rezoning process took approximately 2.5 years to complete.
HTA is building a 55,000 SF medical office building and finalized the lease with Jackson South for approximately 36,000 SF. The new hospital’s location will alleviate some of the immediate medical office needs that Jackson has. The new Jackson South MOB is expected to be completed in 2021.
Courtelis also brought in Royal Senior Corp. in order to develop a campus for an assisted living facility, independent living as well as a memory care units. The medical office building should commence construction by the end of February and the assisted living facility campus, by June 2020.
